Ameren Missouri Economic Impact

Ameren Missouri is committed to working with public officials to create conditions that provide our customers throughout the state with affordable, reliable, safe and clean energy. Together, we can help grow Missouri's economy, attract and retain business and create jobs.

At regular intervals, we engage St. Louis-based Development Strategies to conduct an independent analysis of the company's economic impact on the State of Missouri. This study, completed in 2013, evaluates the direct impacts resulting from Ameren Missouri's average annual expenditures on capital investment (poles, wire, pipe, etc.), operations and employee compensation. Ameren Missouri generates the following average annual economic impact on the State of Missouri:
  • $3.9 billion in economic activity for Missouri's economy
  • $1.0 billion in household earnings for Missouri families
  • Supports 19,332 direct and indirect jobs in Missouri
  • $131.2 million in real and personal property taxes to local jurisdictions (annual average based on 2011 and 2012 tax years)
  • $58.9 million average annual direct and indirect income taxes to Missouri
