Ameren Donation to Vashon High School

Ameren donated computers, furniture, whiteboards, office and gym equipment to Vashon High School in St. Louis to help alleviate financial stress and give access to technology for underequipped classrooms.

National Volunteer Month

Ameren celebrated National Volunteer Month by helping local community organizations with a range of volunteer projects that focus on benefiting families, promoting diversity and inclusion, and supporting educational programs and opportunities. Projects included gardening, spring cleaning, rehabbing, painting and assisting with field events at the local Special Olympics spring games. Relay for Life

Relay for Life of Ameren

Ameren employees raised more than $33,000 to help fund cancer research at its third annual Relay for Life event, benefiting the American Cancer Society. The event honored cancer survivors and remembered loved ones who have lost their battle with cancer.

Hawk Rescue

Hawk Rescue at Ameren HQ

Jeff Meshach with the World Bird Sanctuary (WBS) safely rescued a red-tailed hawk at Ameren heaquarters in St. Louis. As part of Ameren’s Avian Protection Program, the WBS was called after the hawk repeatedly collided with building windows in an attempt to defend its territory from its own reflection. Meshach safely released the hawk in a remote location.

Discussions Across Differences

Discussions Across Differences

To foster community conversations after events in Ferguson, Mo., Ameren took actions including producing an interview series, Discussions Across Differences. The series is designed to increase communication skills and awareness of issues relating to diversity and inclusion. The materials - which Ameren uses for its own employees - are free to community organizations, businesses and other groups.

Red Cross check

Red Cross Support for Flood Relief

In January 2016, Ameren pledged $50,000 to the American Red Cross to assist with the region's flood-relief efforts. Ameren volunteers also loaded flood-relief supplies onto trucks that were distributed to impacted areas. (more)


Ameren Cares Community Initiative

In 2015, Ameren announced a multi-year, $2.5 million initiative to support a variety of organizations and programs - including those related to child well-being, education and job readiness - in communities in St. Louis and North St. Louis County. (more)
