Mark Twain Transmission Project

Easement Information

When we build a new transmission line, it is necessary to secure an easement or other property rights for the new line. Here are the key points:

Landowners along the approved route will be mailed a letter requesting a meeting to discuss project details, which will include the proposed easement location, the type of facilities, and easement compensation.

We will request access to the property for the purposes of land surveys and land studies. With this information, multiple documents will be completed, including property legal descriptions/survey exhibits, environmental surveys, studies of sensitive areas, and soil condition studies, which will aid in determining the depth and design of the foundations that will support the single-shaft steel poles.
The transmission line will be supported by single-shaft steel pole structures. Land surveys and studies will be performed on each property to help determine the exact location of each structure and the size and depth of its supporting foundation.
In some cases, we may request a temporary easement to facilitate transmission line construction. Landowners will be compensated for temporary easements.
